⭐ Overview
Yano Simulator 0.2.0 is a major pre-1.0 feature release focused on faster simulation, richer model methodologies, scalable array modeling, and a more responsive authoring experience.
🚀 Highlights
- Native Fast v2 is now the default simulation engine. It adds reusable compiled plans, cached shape handling, deterministic parallel sensitivity and scenario batches, memory-saving output capture, resumable Advance sessions, and live SyntheSim reruns, while retaining transparent fallback for unsupported cases.
- Model Architecture now supports executable hybrid models with SD, ABM, and DES components. Users can define multiple clocks, typed ports, shared values, cross-clock coupling, named events, queues, resources, processes, and methodology-aware output sources in one model.
- Agent Modules now provide contextual authoring for formula-first initialization and recurring behavior. They also support managed populations, movement and neighbor actions, networks, lifecycle events, category quotas, complete agent histories, movement trails, and individual-agent inspection.
- Array modeling now supports saved dimensions and named element sets, relative and range selectors, explicit aggregation and broadcasting, conditional aggregates, per-element equations, graphical-function editing, and safer dimension-aligned evaluation.
- The Equation editor adds multilingual and CJK-friendly authoring, safer quoted references, matching-bracket highlighting, built-in-function highlighting, context-aware array suggestions, and modern
IF ... THEN ... ELSEconditionals with legacy syntax normalization. - Model Details and documentation now support project-wide descriptions, tags, variable notes, and reusable number-to-text mappings. Canvas styling, animated plot export, responsive inspectors, and the Schelling segregation tutorial further improve presentation, analysis, and learning workflows.
🔄 Compatibility
- Existing
.yanoprojects remain the primary editable project format. - Legacy equation spellings and conditional syntax are normalized to the current canonical forms.
- Unsupported Native Fast v2 cases continue through the compatible fallback path where available.
