Validate a model
Use Validate Model to create a point-in-time health report. Refresh the report after changing equations, connections, units, run settings, or analysis definitions.
Run validation
- Save a working copy of the model.
- Choose Validate Model from the analysis controls.
- Review the overview counts, then inspect each section.
- Select a related variable when a finding provides one.
- Correct the model and choose Refresh.
What the report checks
- General Model Check: names, wiring, equations, and runtime warnings.
- Surprise Behavior Test: suspicious stock behavior found during simulation.
- Dimensional Consistency: missing units and incompatible unit relationships.
- Sensitivity Analysis: evidence from the latest completed sensitivity run.
- Behavior Reproduction: fit statistics from the latest calibration-style optimization.
Unavailable does not mean passed. It means the required evidence has not been generated, such as a completed sensitivity or behavior-reproduction run.
Validation is diagnostic, not proof that a model is correct. Confirm assumptions, boundary behavior, units, and historical fit with domain experts.
