Welcome to Yano Simulator
Yano Simulator is a visual system dynamics modeller for building stock-and-flow models, running simulations, and examining results in plots and tables.
Main areas
- Model / Interface switches between the modelling canvas and the presentation interface.
- The left palette adds model primitives, plots, and analysis actions.
- The canvas is where you arrange and connect the model.
- The Model Inspector edits model settings and the selected object's behavior and style.
- The Workspace below the canvas displays plots, tables, and interactive simulation controls.
- The simulation bar provides Simulate, Advance, Pause/Resume, Stop, and Restore.
Collapse the palette, inspector, or Workspace with their edge chevrons when you need more canvas space.
Recommended first workflow
- Add a stock, flow, and auxiliary from Primitives.
- Connect variables with the Connector tool.
- Select each variable and enter its equation and unit in Behavior.
- Set the simulation time range and DT under Model Settings.
- Select Simulate.
- Add a plot or open Workspace > Plots to inspect the output.
- Save the model.
Continue with Build your first model, Model Workspace, or Simulation settings.
Important limitations
- A diagram can be visually complete but still be mathematically incomplete. Validate equations and connector dependencies before relying on results.
- Diagram Mode is for qualitative diagrams and disables per-variable simulation behavior.
- Some application areas and analysis actions may be unavailable under the current subscription.
