Interface Designer

Interface Designer turns a model into a page-based control panel, dashboard, or presentation. An Interface page contains interactive inputs, simulation actions, indicators, plots, text, and graphics. Interface pages are stored with the model.

Edit and Preview

Use Edit to build the Interface:

Controls do not accept input in Edit mode. Action Buttons and Navigation Controls do not run, and simulation controls in the Interface header are disabled.

Use Preview to operate the Interface. Entering Preview clears the object selection. Inputs, buttons, navigation, plot interaction, and Progress Control scrubbing become active. Page creation and templates are disabled, and the page is centered in the available workspace.

Pages

The page picker changes the current page. The + button adds a page. In Behavior > Page, you can also rename or delete the current page; at least one page must remain.

Each page has its own objects and Style settings:

Changing a device preset replaces the page width and height with that preset's size. Choosing Custom uses 1200 x 800 initially; width and height remain editable for every preset.

Objects cannot be positioned outside the page. Their position is clamped after moves, resizes, imports, and loading. Object dimensions and other numeric settings are also normalized to supported limits.

Inspector

The inspector has two tabs:

Every selected object has an editable Title in Behavior. Most objects also expose shared title-placement and appearance settings there. Style contains geometry, stacking, fonts, fill, border, and object-specific visual settings.

Adding Content

The palette contains all 13 visible object types:

  1. Slider
  2. Toggle
  3. Stepper
  4. Numeric Input
  5. Array Input
  6. Action Button
  7. Progress Control
  8. Navigation Control
  9. Gauge
  10. Plots
  11. Value
  12. Text
  13. Graphics

Dashboard, Policy Lab, and Run Manager templates replace the current page's objects with a prepared layout. Use templates before detailed customization, because applying another template discards the current page layout.

Import Exposed Controls adds controls for eligible model inputs that are not already represented on the current page. Import Model Plots copies model-canvas plots into the current Interface page, preserving supported plot configuration, markers, and shaded bands.

See Objects and settings, Plots and tables, and Actions, progress, and navigation.
