Work on the Model Canvas

Add and edit primitives

Select a primitive in the left palette, then click the canvas to place it. Double-click labels to rename objects. Select an object to edit its behavior and appearance in the inspector.

Stocks and flows

A stock holds an accumulated quantity. A flow changes a stock:

Connectors

Select Connector, click a source variable, then a target variable. While drawing a connector, press Shift at each point where you want to drop an anchor; Yano Simulator routes the connector through those anchors as a smooth Bezier curve. After creating the connector, drag the midpoint or individual anchor handles to reshape it. Connector style, polarity, placement, and delay marking are available when a connector is selected.

Connectors do not replace equations. They document and validate which variables influence a calculation.

Modules

Modules organize a model into nested structure. Enter a module to edit its contents. A module can display the dynamics of a variable inside it by selecting that variable under Module Indicator.

Selection actions

Use the context menu for selection-specific commands such as viewing results. A selected canvas plot can also be exported as PNG, JPG, SVG, or PDF.

Canvas output

The model canvas can be printed or exported through the application commands. Animated GIF export requires simulation data with valid timestamps.
